The Whiskey Road Races Are Back!
Oct 3rd, 2009
Aiken, South Carolina

Come to Aiken SC and run one of the flattest, most scenic 10K courses around.  Running this race not only helps you, but also helps out the Cumbee Center (CAAP, Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons, INC). They are a top notch organization that does top notch work.  Involves volunteers nearly from top to bottom, most expenses go toward temp housing for their clients.  All events start and end at H.O Weeks Activities Building, 1700 Whiskey Road.

Course: Run 1 mile of Whiskey Road then turn off and into  the dirt roads in Aiken's Horse district.  It only uses two blocks, toward the upper (eg. dry) sections.  Then it runs nearly 1 complete mile on our Scenic South Boundary Avenue (paved).  It's flat and fast and I think it one of the prettiest 10K routes (discounting those beach and bridge runs). See the course map and course certification. Course information.

You can help!  If you'd like to volunteer some  manpower, contact the running club.
